What are you using your shotgun for? If you shoot slugs I think it would be pretty useful. Shooting flying clays and birds, I'm not sure. Some say yes and some say no, I guess it depends on the shooter. -
Do you mean literally? Like will it attach to your gun? That depends on what gun you have, and whether or not it has a rail on the top of the receiver to accept an optic. Shotguns such as the Remington 870 Tactical and Benelli M4 have short picatinny rail sections mounted to the receiver to which an optic can be easily mounted. Companies like Mesa Tactical also sell rail sections that can be mounted to the receivers with a few small bolts (some gunsmithing required). Also some receiver side-saddle shell holders have rails attached to them.
If you want a full length rail, you can get one from Black Aces Tactical or Aim Sports Inc.Comment

Sorry I misread your original question, I thought you meant will it work well on a shotgun.
I'm not familiar with this particular red dot sight but HD and hunting (unless you're planning to hunt doves in Argentina....) do not involve a high volume of shooting. So I think it should have no problem holding zero.Comment
