question on mesa tactical reciever sling mount

I just bought one of these
Mesa Tactical designs and manufactures American-made, duty-grade firearm and shotgun accessories trusted by law enforcement and professionals.

I was wondering if there is any problem of possible scratching of reciever from the screw, or sling socket on the other side. Instructions say something about a rubber gasket thats not included, but saw a video where it gasket was for a different style (hook)

    Thanks guys

As you stated that style does not come with a gasket. Yes, any time you have metal on metal there can be some finish removed. However, it would have to be over a long period of time and under heavy use before it was a major issue. I install these all the time, most often over the Mesa shell holder but have installed them directly on the receiver also. I have no issue using it either way as it is duty quality stuff.

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.

Picture on their website shows included gasket and one wrench. I got no gasket and two wrenches.

Anyways thanks, andn here it is on my turkey gun. A little bit traditional and a little bit tactical.

The other style has a gasket because it moves against the receiver. Your style has a base that does not move, the push button quick detach swivel moves within the base. Since the base is not moving against the receiver there will be no major damage to the receiver other then what the contact pressure might causes. of metal on metal. If it concerns you then cut a piece of cloth electric tape in a circle and put that under it.
