    12 gauge mini shells

Have you tried them? / What do you think of them?

I tried them in my coach gun for fun, but they didn't leave much of an impression. Going through my ammo I found 22 rounds mixed bird and buck.
If anyone wants to try it and can pick it up in the Inland Empire I'd be happy to give it to you.

Link if you haven't seen them.

I had some of the Centurion mini-shells in 00Buck (6 pellets). They would only cycle reliably though my Win1300 pump. In both my Escort and ATI semi-autos they would always release 2 shells at once from the magazine and jam the action.

In my Win1300 the shells had very little recoil and were great for quick followup shots. Plus IIRC I could get like 13 of them in the shotty and another 5 in the side saddle.

I don't think the benefit of mini shells would be useful in a coach gun unless you were just looking for less recoil. I would think the primary benefit of mini shells would be for increasing the number of defensive rounds that you could place in the magazine of a standard pump shotgun.

If your pump has a 5 shot mag, with the mini shells you could probably squeeze in 9 rounds of 00 buck for home defense.

Or you might want 9 rounds of birdshot for taking out a bunch of rats near the barn.

The low recoil is a bonus for faster follow-up shots. It would also benefit kids and the elderly.

The disadvantage is they cycle poorly in a lot of shotguns. You'd definitely want to make sure they are flawless in your shotgun if it's going to be used for HD.

Can you imagine if you had a KelTec KSG how many rounds you would then have on board..

And only certain pumps. They work well in the Winchester 1300 and clones, but not so well in the Mossberg 500 or Remington 870. YMMV. Even then you can't baby the action or the round could flip backwards. They're good for filling in the last usable magazine space where a full size round won't fit and increasing your round count by 1.

I just read a couple reviews on Midway where they run flawlessly out of KSG's. It gives you 24+1!!!

                4+ stars from 33 reviews at M.W.
I wish I had the same experience. These mini shells didn't make much of a impression on me, but to put it in perspective, I enjoy shooting slugs thru my 870

seems like a waste of money, it's more expensive than 3" 410 bore shells. which you can actually use to hunt small game and skeet ect
