    Source for STS hulls?

Hi, I've finally got almost everything I need to reload some 12 gauge shells for rabbit/bird hunting and skeet except for hulls and shot. I've heard STS/Nitro hulls are the way to go rather than the new AA hulls since their two piece design isn't as durable as the old one. Where are you people finding STS hulls at a reasonable price? I was told to head to the clays range and find them on the field but I don't want to be intrusive.

Don't buy any. you can more than likely find Remington Gun Clubs hulls laying on the ground at most ranges. These load exactly like STS/Nitro and are one piece design.

People tend to ignore the Remington Gun Club hulls, you should be able to find those for picking up. I've read on shotgunworld.com that these reload just as nice.

Well damn... I'm sure glad I posted this thread because I would have just tossed the hulls away after shooting them. Thanks a lot, guys.

STS, nitro, gun clubs and many other Remington one piece hulls will reload very nicely. I have some target load hulls (wal mart bulk pack) that have 5-6 loadings and they are holding up just fine so far

He is a really good guy to deal with:

Just email him with what you need.

Rotometal's in the East Bay for shot.
When asked what qualities he most valued in his generals, Napoleon said, "give me lucky ones."

I'm in SoCal, though. Anywhere good in SoCal for shot? Specifically #7.5?

Usually the best place to buy shot is from local clubs that do volume buy's direct from Lawrence. Shipping is a big component from most of the retailers. Rotometals prices include shipping, Recobs Target Shop is probably the least expensive online source for lead shot (excellent prices + flat rate shipping).

I prefer loading with STS/Nitro's, but I will second Gun Clubs as well (they load the same as STS).

Depending on the game you plan to load for, the biggest cost impact you can make on your reloading costs is loading lighter shot loads.

Thanks, guys! You've all been a big help to my reloading endeavors. Now it's time to pick up a bag of shot and have at it! I hope my little Lee Load-All works decent.

All ranges I know of just throw them away, so check there.

If not, Phillips Wholesale sells them.
