Did anyone have trouble installing the..

Installing the Blackhawk forend on a Remington 870 or is it just me? The piece keeps getting stuck and the castle nut won't reach all the way. If you did encounter any issues did you have to modify it a little by shaving a little off?

Yes, they are all like that and you have to file out some of the material where the action bars fit. Not a bad thing because as you remove some material you fit it and if more is needed you remove a little more. This give you a tight fit. However, Black Hawk has known about the issue for a couple years and will not have a new mold made because of the cost. Yoy would think because these are being made in China they would spend the money to make the damn things fit. The worst thing to happend to the SpecOps stock was when Koxx sold it to Black Hawk.

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.

Alright. Sounds good. Wanted to verify before anything. Thanks for the feedback. I'm just gonna make it easier and purchase another one and keep it as a back up eh. Not too happy about that. Wish I would of known before buying it

I would still do a little filing and get the fit right before setting it aside for possible future use.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I just recently went back to another gun shop and purchased a magpul and now I'm going to trade out the stock for a magpul also. I don't like the sight of having a Blackhawk stock and magpul forend + magpul vertical grip. But I'll be sure to file it out and keep it on the side along with the original stock 870 equipment
