    rem 1100-changing barrel and stock?

I would like some opinions/advice on my idea of "refreshing" an older remington 1100 magnum...

I have a Browning cotori o/u trap that has a monte Carlo stock, which suits me well and I really like...

My idea is to change the wood on the remington, and replace with black synthetic monte Carlo stock and forgrip.....
Also change the barrel for a choked version. I would like to use this gun for sporting clays, trap, etc., change it up from the o/u.
What barrel configuration you guys recommend? I would only be using 2 3/4 shells...
I don't really want to buy a new shotgun....would like to make due with what I have...
Also, I wouldn't be competing or anything, just shooting for fun....

    Thanks

The nice thing about the 1100 is that it's like Lego blocks. Changing stocks, forends and barrels on an 1100 are user-friendly operations. Change what you want to, if you don't like it, change it back or try something else.

Finding a barrel with removable chokes can be a little bit of a challenge; I've been in the hunt for a while and come up dry for the most part, but then mine's left handed, even more of a challenge. You can get your original barrel fitted with thin wall chokes, but probably not Remchokes, the barrel wall is too thin.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

You are correct..The difficult part is finding the barrel...for a decent price!
