I love both, I would just note that AR's are back to cheap prices right now so it seems like now the time to snatch one up.
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

I voted AR because parts are getting cheaper right now and you can find good deals on just about everything you need.

There is little to no chance of the Mossy 500 ever being banned...
And, as mentioned, an oversupply of AR parts...

Whatever you buy will be registered. Would you want CA knowing you have a AR or a Mossy? Personally a mossy is more "sporting purpose".

its hard to say, because everyone needs a good shotgun. also everyone needs a good ar lol. i would say go for the ar because they are fun to put together and really fun to shoot. and after the Ar if you keep an eye out you can find that shotgun used for way cheap. i have had my 12 ga since i was 17. its taken me untill a week ago to finally get an Ar.

considering prices are down on AR stuff, I'd get the AR15 now and shotgun later. deals for Mossberg 500s come up all the time. you could even go with the Maverick 88 (also made by Mossberg) which comes up at Big 5 / Turners for $229 now and then.

If you can only afford one, the AR-15 is a better investment.

I think the only "good" AR-15s are the Pre-Ban ones or the pew-pew-pew ones. Neither of which are obtainable here.

The AR-15 is on every lefty's ban list. If you haven't figured it out yet, when it comes to EBR's, get them while you can before the door slams shut. You snooze, you lose. The 500 is in no danger..............yet.

I'm in the AR camp as well. As much as I love my shotguns, the AR does have the focus of politicians. That fact alone would prompt me to acquire an AR first if funds permit the purchase of only one for now.

A buck a round for the shotgun, and noisy too. AR's are more fun and cheaper to use.

My wife and I were planning to get an AR first, but decided to get a shotgun instead as it seemed to be a missing link for our HD purposes. Our G19 was our HD weapon. Now with our 590A1 coming, I'll have the shotgun near me and the G19 near her so we have a better setup. We'll get an AR for sure, but I figured the shotgun would be good first. Either way, you'll end up with both like we will. If it's more for fun, get the AR, we decided to lean towards HD first. Good luck!
