Browning Cynergy

I have an opportunity to purchase a Browning Cynergy O/U with what seems to be the various chokes, and case. I tried to price it but it spans the price range from 2k to 3.5k. The gun is fairly new with paperwork showing it purchased in 2012. Lightly used. No dings, scratches of any kind very good condition

Does anyone know what a fair price for this would be? Is 2K reasonable?

Do you happen to know which model it is? Is it a sporting, trap or field model? Is it the cynergy classic? What type of stock does it have and what does the recoil pad look like? All of these items will affect the value of the gun.

I love the cynergy but there are a lot of people who think the gun looks ugly. I have shot the sporting clays model and it swings awesome.

There are only about 40 different Cynergy models. When you find out what you are looking at go to pooshka.com and you can get better information.

FWIW 2k-3.5k would be for guns in excellent condition on the retail market.

Also there have been some issues with the Cynergy model. Some have issues with lock-up. The hinge assembly is machined into the receiver rather than being a pin. Even though it gives a large opening radius it can cause problems. I saw one that would not lock up properly out of the box. I don't know if this was because the dealer inadvertently switched barrels or what, but the buyer was really upset. As long as you get one that works you should get many years out of it. If you are buying it PPT ask for a firing demo at a range. Otherwise some dealers have a firing vault they can discharge a couple of rounds.

As Newshooter said some people think it looks ugly - I'm one of them. However, it is a Browning and for a mid- lower range O/U they are excellent guns and many gunsmiths are available to do work on them if and when necessary.

I currently own 2 Brownings for trap, and have owned several others over the years.

I bought a cynergy classic field model 28 ga in Aug and have about 4k down the pipes and it has performed flawlessly. It has a manual safety, which is preferred for skeet shooting. The price was considerably lower than 2k, new.
