    Break-in

Hey guys, just got a new semi-auto shotgun, and want to break it in with a few hundred rounds of 3 or 3.5 inch loads, but i cant find any ranges around L.A. that will let you shoot it. All of the 3inch plus rounds i find are either shot 4 size or larger.

Any idea? are there any loads you guys would recommend to use or a range?

(wanted to go to burrow canyon if possible)

    thanks

I've never heard of breaking in a semi-auto.

If you are going to the range to do "break it" get some #7.5's or #8's or higher. I can't imagine shooting a couple hundred rounds of #4's or bigger and not having a shoulder issue the next few days.

Most rifle ranges allow folks to shoot shotguns.

Trap and Skeet fields are set up for #7 and smaller shot...

You can also call LAX indoor range and Sharpshooters as they allow shotguns to be fired indoors
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

What kind of autoloader did you get?

I recently bought a 930 spx and just started off shooting target loads right out the box and didnt have to break it in and it works perfect . The only thing I did was finding loads that are at least 1200fps then you should be good if your autoloader can cycle it

Most Benelli's need to be broken in. I ran about fifty rounds of the heavy field loads through my M4, and it will now reliable cycle even the lightest load.

I was wondering where they let you shoot these, Are they available in a #7.5? most places ive seen allow target loads at #7.5 plus, but ill look in to the places some of you have mentioned.

If they are, i cant seem to find any at walmart, but i am willing to go elsewhere.

Do you have any links to which i should use? or maybe a site where they sell the heavy loads?

                        Thanks

Kent brand pretty good,,, and about cheapest... Prob have to go out to the desert ... Might as well get some bb ot tt shot... Have fun !!! Cheers ...

I have looked into your rifle range solution, and it seems they only allow slugs, which if i cant find a place, ill probably just buy a few dozen rounds of them.

That might have to be the plan, do you have any recommendations where in the desert?
