    ^^^It's a great habit (safety engaged) to get into, and one that's been drilled into all shooters at an early age on the tactical side where magazines are involved.

    Currently, I only don't use my safety in front of Coach/Capt. Dick

    I hope they're not reading this.

      All three of my skeet guns are O/U but have manual safeties not the auto type that engage when you open them. I leave them off and the shotgun open until I'm ready to load and shoot.

        Agreed, that's how it is in sporting clays. I step into the station with an open unloaded gun. Put the muzzle over the cross beam, load two, close my gun, and call "PULL". No safety on or off.

          I never use the safety. I shoot only trap, and never load gun till I'm ready to shoot. When not shooting. Action open and unleaded.
