    Remington Model 870

I have a 870 Express Super Magnum Synthetic 12 gauge with a 26in. barrel and I am looking for a good place to buy a 18 1/2in. barrel. I have searched the Remington web site but I have not found any listed there does anyone know where I can get one.

You searched the Country Store as there is no Web site for the Part orders. The Country Store is run by a private vendor and sells small common ordered parts, over runs and discontinued items If you want to order from the parts list you have to call 800-243-9700 and follow the prompts to parts to order.

        Shorter barrel for model 870

I too am looking to put a shorter barrel on my 870. The Remington store is closed now as it is after 5 back east. Are there other sources for home defense barrels for the 870? Any suggestions on which might be best? Does one for a gun that uses 3" shells also work with a gun like mine that only takes 2 3/4" or shorter shells? It is a 20 ga Wingmaster.

        Thanks,

        Haggler

Saw your barrel. Why spend the money? If you have one with a vent rib then tap it and install a tritium sight.

Remington 870 has got to be one of the best shotguns out there, for fun, for first timers, and for pros. It's a great gun only about 400$ too

I got mine from cheaper than dirt, but don't use them. They are evil. I am sure other people have them

Thanks for the link, I have been looking and adding up what I want to do I think I may just buy one. After Barrel cost, tube extension, sling, stock with pistol grip I can buy new with a little more and have two shot guns and can still shoot clays.

I went the other way looking for a 26" barrel for my 870 with a 18.5" barrel. Found one here in the marketplace for $75 and the guy was local. Worth a shot.

I went to the AI&P Tactical website and spoke to J.D. What a wealth of knowledge. My 20 Gauge 870 Wingmaster has a serial number ending with X which means there are no short barrels made that will fit it. Cutting the barrel at 18.5" would work but that wasn't something I wanted to do.

I ended up ordering a gun from AI&P and am looking forward to having a reliable tactical shotgun put together by J.D to add to my home defense guns.
