    Remington Model 11-48 Question

Are the 3 shot Remington Sportsman Model 11-48s label as "Sportsmans Model" or how would you know that is what you are looking at? I'll be shopping around for an 11-48 but don't want the 3 shot version.

I own 4 11-48s (.410, 28g, 16g, 12g) and all of them only hold 3 rounds. I assume that they are all just plugged for hunting. When I get home, I'll verify this. I do not own a "Sportsman" but, I don't think there's a difference. Another member here did send me a digital copy of a 11-48 owner's manual. If you want a copy, PM me your email address.

Original M11-48s were 4+1 shot, the Sportsman was 2+1 was released to "comply with various US hunting laws". It has a "crimped" mag tube to prevent more than 2 rounds in the mag tube. That is according to what I've read so far.

Thanks if I get one I'll PM you for the manual.

Correct: Sportsman model has a dimple in the tube restricting the capacity--standard 11-48 is 4+1. Love my 11-48's--great shooting guns!

Thanks for the info. I don't own a Sportsman and didn't know the difference.
