    Savage 124c Rare?

Im looking at buying a savage 124c for $200. Its in really nice shape and from google they seem to be pretty rare as there is almost no info on them. Its a super odd design. Looks like a semi auto but its not, its a straight pull bolt. Anyone ever handled one? is there a reason you never see this design?

Most of the posts are people having problems of one kind or another.

I don't think I'd buy into any part of that experience.
    It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.

They're not rare. Load it and shoot it.

It's your gun so you do as you please, but I wouldn't chop it! Just leave it stock, clean it up and shoot it the way it is!
