Many shotgun bags have a D-ring at the end of the zipper allowing you to put a small padlock through the ring and the zipper. Wont prevent theft, but it'd prevent kids from "borrowing" the gun, as you'd have to destroy the bag to get it.

Legally, it's a "locked container sealed on all sides",

No need to destroy the bag. All that is needed is to twist the lock and the zipper pull will easily break. Ask me how I know . When it breaks the soft case is still completely usable.

I use Bore Stores my long guns that are not used regularly. Give you a nice degree of protection both from rust and safe dings.

Can be found in many sizes online, though I tend to buy direct at the Gun Show.

Browse a huge inventory of Gear products including Tactical Gear, & Gun Cases & Storage with 4.5 rating on 4,072 reviews from verified buyers.

I have seen people talk about this, but other than when i bought a shotgun 7-8 years ago, i had to buy a trigger lock. I have never been asked about a safe or required to buy a lock.

Before I bought my safe. my guns, my dads guns, and my grandpas guns have always been stored with a fresh wipe of a good long lasting corrosion inhibitor inside of a soft case. Theres 60yr old guns in a closet that don't have a scratch or fingerprint on them and haven't even seen light in 10yrs, corrosion hasn't been an issue on any.
