Winchester shells get stuck and don't auto-eject out of my shotgun.

Super Targets tend to do that. They are not easy to extract and they also recoil a bit more than the others in the same 1oz Dram/FPS range. I like Gun Clubs for their reloadability and Federal Targets for their low recoil.

What shotgun do you have? Semi-auto, pump or break action?

I tend to use those cheap Winchester Universals and Federal Multipurpose value pack shells from Walmart (comes in 100 round packs). I usually use #7.5 shot and these 2 types sold at Walmart are loaded for 1200 fps with 1 1/8oz of lead. They are all 2 3/4 inch type shells as the ranges in my area do not allow 3 inch shells. While cheap, these shells do have many disadvantages:
- Recoil. They recoil quite heavily, I'm relying on the Benelli recoil system and my shooting vest to handle it.

- Dirty. These are some of the dirtiest shells you can shoot. However, the Benelli uses a Inertia Driven System so dirty shells aren't a problem. Plus, with a chrome plated barrel, cleaning is no problem at all.

I'm starting to favor Estate Super Sport, they are clean shooting and comes in more variety of loads. You can get lower recoiling 1oz loads and they burn very cleanly. Strangely enough, their tech support is handled by Federal and is pretty nice. I had 1 defect shell in a box, I emailed their tech support and they ask for the lot number and said they will send me a check for a refund for the box. Nice!

I have a Benelli Supernova (pump). I'm not to concerned about "dirty" ammo as I clean my guns after every trip out. I guess I'll just try what is cheapest or on sale.
I'll probably look for #7.5. That seems to be a safe size that works everywhere. I live down the street from Los Altos Rod and Gun but prefer Coyote Valley.

Shoot whatever is cheapest and available to start out with.

I shoot reloads now but I used to shoot whatever was cheap at the time. I am pretty sure you aren't going to miss targets because of your shells.

Good site, a pity they limit you to 10 boxes per customer for the Remington Gun Club. They also have Federal Top Gun for $6.49 a box, no limit on this. I ordered 10 boxes of the Remington Gun Club and 30 boxes of the Federal Top Gun.

I shoot #8 remington or rio. I usually get them for about .26 cents after taxes with the big 5 coupons that's always around.

I second this. Big 5 has Rio on sale for 6.99, and dicks has it for 6.99 always. Good load, fairly clean. And if you plan to reload they are brass which I prefer to the steel for reloading.

I shoot 1 1/8oz 7 1/2. Have gone through a couple cases of the stuff and was impressed.

I usually go with 7 1/2 size shot. Which is whatever turners has cheapest in a one ounce load, which means Quail/dove loads. I shoot older model 12 gauge Wingmaster or 1187 (skeet model) shotguns.
They don't seem to be as particular as the newer model gun when it comes to ammo. Both of mine eat whatever will fit into the chamber.

I've used thousands of these shells over the years, and find the recoil to be mild in both my Browning Gold (gas auto)and CZ Upland Sterling (over/under). They used to be cheap, not so much any more. I still use them in either #7-1/2 or #8 for everything except Skeet...I use 1-1/8oz #9 that.

Baschieri and Pellagri Competition F2, 7/8oz #8s. I paid 7 something a box for them through Cabela's. They really tame the recoil of my just-over-6-pound Franchi O/U. The load is pretty much a 20ga load in a 12ga shell (and gun). I do need to see if they will cycle in a semi-auto gun. They're better than the Winchester AA "Low noise, Low recoil" load in that they are at 1160 ft/sec, rather than 980. Still very low recoil and noise.

I prefer Remingtons, because they have a single piece plastic hull that can be reloaded pretty much until the crimp fails. Shotshells with paper bases wear out much quicker, and fiber-base shells are worse than useless for reloading.

If you shoot high volume, reloading is your friend.

That being said, the best shells for a non-reloader are simply the cheapest ones. Other than Rio shells. In my experience they are very dirty and high-pressure. I have a 20 ga. Remington over/under that consistently breaks Rio primers, but doesn't have that problem with any other brand.
