HELP! I discovered Clays and now hooked

Went Clay shooting this weekend for the first time and had so much fun I may now be hooked. I've been shooting my AR and Handguns so long at paper I thought I'd try something new.

Could not hit squat, but had such a great time. Now I may have to go look for a cool over under or one of those Italian Semi-Auto 30"ers, and a cool vest and hat as I got some odd looks with my Versamax Tactical

It is a whole bunch of fun! I just started after Santa brought me a nice Browning O/U shotgun. It can sure be expensive though. $$$$

            Bwahahahahah!! That's how it started.

BTW if you have trouble with regular trap, skeet or sporting clay, try manual trap first. They are easier because the trap machine is located close to you. If you're in the Bay Area, you can check out the manual trap machines at Los Altos. You can buy your own clays from Walmart or buy it from the range office. I recommend buying from the range office, the Walmart ones suck and you'll get lots of broken ones in the box.

Spent Sat and Sun at Coyote Valley Sporting Clays. Too much fun.

              Trap went 10 for 25
              Skeet went 5 for 25

Sporting Clay stations were a blast as well.

Did fairly well with the Versamax but after renting the Browning 625 O/U there is something to be said with that cool factor.

I wonder if the kids really need that college fund

I go to Coyote too. That place is great. It is definitely addicting and very fun. I just bought my first shotgun about a week ago and am itching to get out there. Hopefully this weekend.

Hey, I was at Coyote Valley Sporting Clays this past weekend too!
My wife totally enjoyed it, I would have given the place a personal 10/10 but they don't allow my Benelli M4 because the barrel is too short...*shrug* was a "blast" to shoot there anyways, loved the stations with the rabbit clays....

It is super fun. As they say it's cheaper than therapy. Although that might not be accurate. It's definitely more fun than punching holes in paper.

HA! We should wear Calguns Shirts and give the secret hand shake

I'm going again this Saturday if my ammo arrives. With myself and two kids we went through nearly 300 rounds.

Hi, my name is John, and I'm an addict.

My daughter (18) is also now hooked... each week asking if we are going trap shooting on Saturday. I love the time together, but yeah, its hard on the wallet, but worth every penny to me. I just bought her a cute pink accented shooting vest and she's all jazzed about it.

Reminds me of when I used to play golf. Way fun, addictive, maddening, and you can't wait to play the next time right up until you reach a plateau in your results.

Maybe it's not as refined as shooting at Clay Clubs. Buy cases of clays, a hand thrower and bulk shell at Wallyworld. Find some BLM land and shoot what ever shotgun you own. I help keeps cost down. Trigger time is trigger time.
