Remington 11-48 Date

Does anyone know a place I can check the manufacturer date on a Remington 11-48? The places I found go off of the letters stamped on the barrel but that does not seem too reliable since someone could just change the barrels.

I've been looking for a serial reference for Remington 870's and haven't found one either. I ended up calling Remington and they were able to give me the born-on dates for a couple C&R 870s.

I wanted to know whan my Remington Model 11 was made and chamber length. I contacted Remington and they were very effeiciant and sent me a owners manual.

Contact Remington with serial # and model and they will tell you.
