    Best AOW sling?

I have been on a sling kick, buying new slings for most of my rifles. My Remington 870 AOW has a Speedfeed Birds Head and a little fitting in the mag tube cap, is there a good short sling that you recommend for my AOW?

I have been getting educated about QD, HK clips, etc. what kind of connectors fit into these relatively tiny holes on the sling fittings? Do I need slip rings, then use an HK clip on those or ??

    Thanks for any advice.

You'd have to use a small pin sling swivel. Standard hunting rifle sling mount. I'd like something a little more meaty. http://www.gggaz.com/remington-870-q...tachments.html

Forend was simply because I had it laying around and have since mounted a Magpul AFG? Is that bad? I have the rail covers, it's fine for me, no sharp edges where I grip it. Am I missing something about this? I thought that's what rail covers are for? I was originally going to put a VFG on it, but then decided I like the AFG a bit more.

I have a single point sling for my AR pistol, not that crazy about it. Luckily it is one of those convertible ones and I ended up using it as a two point on the pistol. My AR pistol has the 11" barrel, it is one of those pretty long ones. Thanks for the tips on the loop adapter and the small pin sling swivel.

With the barrel not extending beyond the sling attachment, couldn't you theoretically end up with the sling getting in front of the barrel when shooting from the hip? How about one of those rail mount sling adapters? Might be kinda weird having it move when you work the slide though...

Magpul makes a single point sling mount (say that several times and it sounds like singapore sling) that mounts at the rear pin location. If you can get the shell holder and mount to cooperate then that could be a solution.

Check out GG&G for much better sling mounts. Personally I would run a single point with your setup and do the "push out" technique, but if you must have a two point there is none better than the Ares Armor Huskey.

I am not as crazy about the shell holder as I thought I would be, I may ditch it and sell it. This is just a range toy so I always shoot it and hold it in a pretty slow and deliberate manner so I am not too concerned about shooting the sling off. I may try the single point.

I do the push out technique with the AR pistol, it helps.

I think you will find reloading from that side saddle type shell holder is a lot quicker if you load the shells in it so you can draw them from the bottom. Sorry could not help myself.

I can say right now, today, since the side saddle is so new, the fit is obnoxiously tight, these puppies don't come out of the saddle unless you force them out and it shaves a small bit of plastic out of the case. I am sure with usage, they will eventually loosen up, but I may bag the shell holder anyway, I am not as crazy about it as I thought I would be.
