Ithaca 37 forend fit Remington 870?

I have a H&R Chinese 870 wannabe that I am re-finishing in Duracoat Parker. I am installing a 870 police wood stock & forend that will be oiled and hand rubbed. Now, the more I think of the parker color the more it reminds me of the Ithaca M37 trench gun. So now I want to mount the Ithaca 37 corn cob forend.

Since this Chinese anchor is an 870 wannabe, will the Ithaca 37 forend fit or be made to fit a 870?

It most likely won't fit, because the M37 is a single action bar design, where the 870 is double. If you're working with a wood stock, you could probably shape it to fit the 870 metal.... But I haven't tried that before, and my woodworking skills are pretty much limited to what a drill, a saw, and a pocket knife can do, so who knows...

Thanks, I hadn't considered the action bar. I have no experience with the M37. I plan on using the 870 police walnut stock.
