    Remy 870 tactical or not?

I'm thinking of getting another 12 gauge. I already have a Mossberg 500 but I want to satisfy my itch with a Remy. Turners has the 18" for $379 and tactical for $519. Is the extra $140 worth the sights and choke?

Nope unless you plan on doing something tactical with it.

Seems pretty redundant to me unless you REALLY want/need a backup. I'd go with something a bit different like a semi auto. Benelli M4, M2, FN SLP all come to mind.

I think it depends on what are you planning to do with it. If your Mossberg does not have Ghost Ring or Rifle sight and removable choke on it, it makes sense to get a Remington with those so you can play around and see difference.

As L84CABO mentioned, it is a little redundant. For the same price, perhaps consider a semi-auto such as the Weatherby SA-08 or SA-459 Turkey?

I would have been happy with the 870, a Mossberg or a Winchester when I was looking for a HD shotgun, they are all good shotguns. As it happened, Bolsa Guns in Westminster had a bunch of Remmys for sale a few years ago, and I scored a Tactical for $269, and Remington had a $30 rebate at the time. I had them put the Scattergun sights on it, and am a happy camper.
