    O/U case choices

    Hello CG'ers,

So I have a new trap combo, and wanted to get input on case choices. My wife is using my older SKB case that will work with a combo, but is not offered anymore. The replacement is a Pelican style case, which is larger and heavier than the one we currently have. I purchased a Blaser F3 combo, and wanted to put it in a different case, as the Blaser one is a bit flashy (it's red) and I'd like something I'm not worried about beating up. The Americase lines are nice, but seem to be a bit large and expensive, hard to justify $400 for the box to carry my shotgun in. Does anyone else have any recommendations?

    EDIT:
Oh yeah, I'm looking for something that won't get messed up from being tossed around the back of our vehicles, the Americases seem like they'd collect dents too easily. Worst case is I cut new foam for a Pelican 1700 I have, which is pretty much the same dimensions as the SKB models offered now.

Americases will dent your car before anything but are very heavy especially with two barrels and tube sets in them. I would look at Negrini or the new light weight Americase for ayour F3. Pelican 1700 plus a Boyt soft case for airline.

This what I have for my Citori

Works great. Downside is you have to break down your OU. But the quality and protection is great, and it's lockable.

If I know I am going to match/hunt that requires fast prep... I'll just put my shotgun in a gunmate bag.

The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

check out Joel Etchen's guns online. They sell hard shell, blue Beretta cases for around $50.00. They are the factory cases but they are tough and you won't have to spend a fortune. Google Joel Etchen and you will find their website.

Around town I put my shotgun in one of these

Then when I travel I throw the whole thing (along with a crap load of gear) in

The shotgun comes with a hard case, but it's red and has leather on the OUTSIDE of the case, so it's almost too nice to throw around. I'll look at the options posted here, thanks guys!

I've been trying to buy this case for two years and every time I go to order it it is out of stock. Your link shows five in stock, but my wife ordered this as a birthday gift to me and was told they won't be able to fill the orders until the end of January. They also told her there is no way to get the realtime inventory to Amazon, so take the Amazon stock level for what it's worth.

However, the fact that I've been trying to get this case for two years should say I think it's worth the wait...

Unfortunately, it will not work for this specific shotgun. My shotgun is a combo, so it has two barrels and one receiver, one barrel is 32", the other is 34" before extended choke tubes.

At this point, I might just have foam cut for the Pelican 1700. =(

I saw the Negrini cases, but have not seen them in person. How is the quality of them? Do you by chance have one or have used one in the past?

They probably made your original ABS Blaser case like the one I'm looking at right now. The more expensive models are nice, I might go with one instead of Americase once I get a carrier set for my O/U.

I use a negrini case. I like it very much. It's light, strong and looks pretty.
