    Benelli ETHOS

Saw this review on the "new for US" Benelli ETHOS:

Has anyone managed to purchase or put one on order yet?

I've seen the magazine ads and thought it was the most beautiful Benelli semi I've seen. I would love to handle one.

Benelli has listed it now on their web site, surprisingly, at only $1,999.

I wonder if they'll release a sporting "SuperSport" version of this?

it seems like benelli finally listened to the complaints about the SBE2 and made some changes. bolt, cheek / shoulder pad material, recoil system, etc.

            good to see.

Semi autos are getting way to expensive! $2k for a semi-autonjustbseems outrageous. Am I alone in this thinking?

I think it depends on the individual. For me, a $2k Benelli semi-auto shotgun is pretty good value for what you get.

Not at all considering the fact that Benelli's can last a lifetime if they're taken care of. Quite possibly as, or more, dependable and durable as any O/U that cost 10 times as much.

Higher grade wood and engraving will always increase the price of any gun no matter who the manufacturer or the type of action.

An older Remington 870 or model 12 with less movimg parts are just as reliable, will last a lifetime, dependable as all get out and cost a ton less.

I really want to hold and swing one of these in 12ga. I wonder if its an upgrade from my older supersport? I love my supersport for dove and duck hunting and it's treated me well but that wood stock on the ethos and the rear pad looks really good.

I would really have to test fire one before I invest $2000 on a semiauto, I mean...I literally walked out the door with a Beretta SP Sporting for a little more than that.

Benelli has had a booth at the Raahauges shooting expo many years. They generally will let you shoot about anything you can think of. Get out there and try it out.

I'd also like to see one before anything else. I can believe that it may perform better than my SBEII, but I'd be afraid to carry something that looks like that to and from the duck blind. It would almost be a shame to get mud and crap all over something that looks that nice, which is why I wouldn't get it as of now. If it happens to shoot and handle better than the SBEII, then it would get a nice healthy coat of camo before hitting the blinds anyway.
