Benelli M2 12 gauge plug removal

I just got my Benelli M2 12 gauge Compact out of jail. The plug limiter seems a little different from the SuperSport and requires the removal of a metal retaining cap on the magazine tube.

I tried using my needle plier to remove the retaining cap, but I think my needle doesn't work well, they slip when I squeeze it.

Can I push shells into the magazine from the other end and pop the retaining cap instead? Or should I go get myself a proper plier instead? Thanks.

You just need something narrow enough to fit into the hole to unscrew the cap. And your not squeezing/clamping as much as you are pushing down and turning. You probably know this already but Benelli's website has a "how to " video.

    Good luck.

Oh, thanks, I was squeezing it pretty hard, doing it wrong I guess. Can you show me there is this video? Thanks.

They only have 2-3 how to videos. It's in one of those because I used it for my M2 as well.

Oh! Careful. Definitely/always put on eye pro when working w springs or things under tension. You can lose an eye. Glad to hear you're good

Thanks man, and yeah, I was wearing my glasses when doing this, almost every video I saw warned about this and now I know why. The force of the spring was a lot stronger than I expected.

Took me a few tries before I managed to get the spring back into the tube and cap it.

Now I know at least one of the reasons why I paid extra for the SuperSport. The metal rod sliding in and out was heck a lot easier.
