    Primary Arms Weapon LIght

    I am looking for a simple weapon light to mount on an 870 and am wondering about the Primary Arms PAWL-3BK and if the recoil from a 12 gauge is too much for it. I plan on using a CDM-Mod-C or an Elzetta ZSM mount. Any thoughts.

    This will be on a HD gun.

    Why use a light designed for a rifle? Get the Surefire light that replaces the forend and runs at either 600 or 200 lumens. Yea, it's more expensive, but it's well worth it because of where/how it mounts and where the controls are located. 262 dollars from Optics Planet.

      I don't want a forend light since the gun is occasionally used by guests to shoot trap and swapping out forends is not all that simple. This kind of light would be more than adequate if it is built to withstand 12 gauge recoil.

        I have used the PAWL-3BK on my 12gauge. No issues whatsoever.

        Great light at an attractive price.

            I'm running the Inforce/Haley WML on mine. Works great and has been holding up thru the 100 rds of bird/buck/slugs I've shot at the range.

              The PAWL-3BK actually is a weapon light, it just doesn't come with a mount.

              I was looking at the PAWL-2BK, it comes with a mount and they claim it is 450 lumens but it takes three CR123 batteries.

              I'm also curious to know if either of these lights can handle the recoil of a shotgun.

                As I said, I have been using a PAWL-3BK on my 12 gauge. Hundreds of rounds of 00 buck, slugs, etc. Still working like a champ.

                  I got an Elzeta ZSM

                  Puts the light in a perfect spot to hit the cap button with my thumb. Takes an allen wrench and about 30 seconds to remove or install.

                  I put this light in it;

                    Thanks for the help. I went with the Streamlight TLR-1 with the Streamlight rail mount for a Remington 870.
