wards hercules model 10 cant reassemble

I have a old wards hercules model 10 that I bought not too long ago. I tried to disassemble it to remove most of the rust. but when removing the hammer i was left with a spring that i do not know how it works or where it goes. Can anyone help me or direct me to a gunsmith that mite know about these old single shot 12 gauge shotguns. I bought this because i thought it was a pretty interesting old 12 gauge and never expected it to have little hard to figure where they go springs. Stuck now and willing to drive to someone who thinks they can figure this thing out or recommended gunsmith.

    I live in Los Angeles.

I believe that you gun is basically a Savage / Stevens / Springfield Model 94. I have two of them. They made millions of them. The classic first shotgun for young shooters back in the day. It should not be hard to find a schematic or replacement parts for your gun on line.
