    First free state purchase

Picked up a Riverside Arms Co., Chicopee, Mass. Model 520. Basically just like a Stevens 520. I bought it because ever since I saw a reproduction of a 520 on Gunbroker, I've been wanting one.

Here are some pics I took with my cell. Not bad for a 60-80 year old shotgun. hard to pin the date as records are scarce.

Walked in and out in 30 minutes of which 10 were talking about it and then questions re SBR/ uppers.

Oh that. Brownell's gunsmithing tool kit. Bit drivers and several flat blade bits etc.

                Thanks Teeko.

                Thanks Paratroop.

Your Stevens looks great and has built in character. Double hump model to boot. Is that an id/issue number on the receiver?

Here is a picture of my Wards Western Field Model 30-SB562-A. Manufactured by Stevens for Wards. I have read that the 520 was manufactured from around 1905 to 1939. A Browning design. Don't forget that there is no dis-connector in that gun. Keep pumping with the trigger down and it will keep firing.

                        wweigle,

                        Nice shotgun.

Yup, Stevens manufactured the same model shotgun under different brand names. They bought Riverside Arms.

Here's a link that has some info. I found several discussions online re the history. But no s/n range dates so far.
