Need a valuation confirmation. Savage M1921.

I know everyone hates these but I'm at a loss. None of my books gives a value for this shotgun.

I have a Savage 1921 takedown 12ga pump shotgun. It's got a nice patina over the barrel(s), good bluing on the receiver and the wood is in very good shape, no cracks. I've got a complete spare front end (barrel, mag tube, takedown lever, etc...) for it as well as 10-15 bits of spare parts I picked up from Numrich over the years. Overall the original finish is maybe 50-60%, patina and worn bluing covers the balance. I've spent 3 years restoring this gun because I like it without regard to value. I don't have any pics at the moment but, I'm figuring about 350 bucks with the spare fore-end and all the spare parts would be a fair price.

It's not beaten up, has enough spare parts to rebuild it twice, wood in 80% condition, metal in 50-60% original blue, barrels are internally shiny and unpitted. So we'll call it in very good condition for an 80+ year old antique. Still a shooter grade piece, not so clean as to be a collection piece.

If you need serial data please let me know. I'm only looking to make sure I get a fair price from a buddy and that I don't rip him off. He really wants a takedown pump 12ga but we're not good enough friends that I want to leave any money on the table.

I Don't see a model 1921 in the Blue book but a model 21 manufactured from 1920 to 1928 is listed and at 80% it is shown to be worth $165.00 and at 60% for $130. Of course the value of any gun is what someone is willing to pay for it. Keeping in mind that you have plenty of spare parts, which would be impossible to get, you would not be out of line asking $200 if he wants the gun. If he is a real good friend call it $175.

The savage shotguns of that day were budget shotguns so they cost much less then the other guns being sold back then to start with. Just being old does not make something worth more. If it did, I would be priceless.
