please read and understand the laws before you post...............by this definition EVERY pistol and rifle with a 10 round mag would be illegal.
now back to the OP, i watched a few videos on the sidewinder and it says you need to use a cutting tool on the receiver to fit the new tube on, after you re size the receiver will the old standard tube still function properly if you want to take off the conversion?best troll thread in calguns history

i wont buy it if the cutting tool opens the receiver up and makes a regular tube useless.
no clue if it will be banned, knoxx made a version of them back in the day, but stopped production.best troll thread in calguns history

i think the receiver made by Black Aces tactical is better, it replaces the stock receiver and will accept saiga 12 mags. only problem is it requires a DROS and i have no idea where to get one.best troll thread in calguns history

Thanks. You dont have to worry about a manufacturing license, you are not making it to sell. Just like 80% receivers. Let me know if yoh find a place that sells black ace tactical receiver to California. The kit I'm familiar with, included that "cutting tool". Don't use it.
Since no license to manufacture is held here, was leery of having the receiver messed with. That could possibly be construed as "manufacturing". Besides, you want your receiver to always accept Mossberg factory parts.
A Google search brought up the company's most recent video how to.
The new instructions are to [instead] slowly sand off the threaded end of the mag tube included in the kit. This makes much more sense. Instead of screwing up your receiver, you slowly sand the threaded end of the new magazine tube. Since the new tube must line up exactly (new mag well in downward position), you need to sand in short sessions. Using 36 grit paper, one minute sanding at a time, & about 30 minutes total, and about 8 trial fittings, it all ended up perfect. Hold the new tube squarely to the sanding surface & I'd recommend using compressed air to blow away the debris before each trial fitting. But check out their video.
FYI, tape up the end of the receiver where the new tube screws in. If you fail to hold back the new mag release lever while twisting, you'll scratch the receiver.
PS, if you have a new gun, beware, the factory tube is held in with Lock-tite. You may destroy your original mag tube trying to get it off. Search for yourself on how to overcome this.
A cheap Mossberg can be had throughout the State. So Hell, just go for it, while you can. How many things came & got banned, leaving you wondering "why didn't I get one of those!"
I tell you what, A.T. now owes me a kit for all I've said here. Make it happen A.T. ! (please
