Anyone ever use a "Flex Hone"

Saw this video on YouTube. Wondered if anybody has any experience or comments about it...

Never used one, but did use a bore brush with cloth wrapped around and some polishing rouge.

Used a hone on a brake cylinder on a 69 Plymouth I had in high school. Same principle.

If you have a classic shotgun that has some pits in the barrel, they work great.

as ERdept said, you can use a variety of home jigs to clean up a barrel or chamber.

Chuck up a cleaning rod and wrap 600 grit wet sand paper around a brush, add oil, sand away..

If you go to far, there is no way to add metal back...

But for an old gun that has some rust from the field, it can really mirror polish a barrel

and dont clean out the slurry, it really helps in the polishing...

We have similar hones here that are about 3' long for honing shotgun barrels, they get the job done well

Was thinking about this for polishing the chamber on my 930 spx, because she's a temperamental hag. Either this or the steel wool method... Thanks for the input fellas! Not enough positive info on this specific piece to try it, so I think I'll start with the steel wool

I have one for my old 16 ga. Works great. I used the liquid that Midway sells for it.

I was going to say, "use lots of lube, and go slow" but I thought that was too obvious.

When you pull the barrel on your SPX, how does it look?

                        tool marks
                        rings?
                        Burs?
                        scratches on fired Hulls?

What do you see that makes you think the chamber needs polishing?

I am not saying that it does not need polishing, but I am curious what you see and why you want to polish it out?

I have used the flex hone on a 12 and a 20. Cured the sticky chamber problem in 6 strokes with the chamber hone. I called the makers and they told me with a really bad chamber it takes about 10-12 strokes but the average is about 6.
Use their oil and you should be done in about 5 minutes, its a lot faster than the 000 steel wool method.
