SO we all know that Remington's new 870 finish is crap... seriously I had it rust on me twice :/

so with that said, parkerize or cerokote for a 870?

I would go rattle can or cerokote. Either cheap or all the way. And yes, the new 870's are rust magnets. I think I'm going to rattle can mine as a practice gun. I'm scared to start rattle canning my AR.

I had my Mossberg 500 cerakoted at MOA Armory in Azusa over a year ago, but they've since closed shop.
They did a great job too! Who/where in the LA/OC area still does it?
I just picked up a PPT 870 from a fellow gunner for a smoking deal. BNIB with all the Mesa Tactical goodies..stock/shell holder/front barrel clamp. Pristine condition..you wouldn't believe me if I told you the price!! Super nice guy who had a bunch of guns taking up space so I happened to luck out and take one off his hands.
            But I digress. Sorry

I had FSDefense cerakote some parts for me. Super good job and super friendly.

I too just got a 870 for a smoking deal, and its rough looking on the outside. I'll scratch it up some more and send it to him for coating

^^ I gotta ask...are you able to remove/reinstall the trigger plate for cleaning purposes without having to remove the stock every time?

yeah there are two receiver pins
just take a punch and pop the trigger assembly off

no need to remove the stock
