    Visiting Weatherby office?

Does anyone know if you can visit Weatherby Office to check if a particular model of shotgun fits properly when you mount it?

I've been hunting high and low for a Weatherby SA-08 Synthetic Youth model for my wife and I want to make sure it'll fit her properly. I've called the dealers listed in their web site but none has it.

I see that Weatheby's office is located here:
1605 Commerce Way, Paso Robles, CA 93446.

About 2.5 hours driving distance, we don't mind driving to their office to check the shotgun out. Heck, maybe we'll buy a few shotguns and rifles just to make the trip worthwhile.

Has anyone visited their office before and do you know if they'll let you try the guns there? We don't need to shoot the guns, just want to see if the shotgun fits my wife when she mounts it. They have rifles too, I might just try a few and pick up some if they let me try those too.

    Thanks.

Give them a call and ask! They're very helpful over the phone.

Weatherby has a show room with all of the current models out on racks for people to handle. There's also some pretty cool historical stuff to see. It's not a big display, but it's pretty cool. The office is only open M-Th, so make sure you don't drive up there on the weekend.

Excellent! Just the information I'm looking for.
I plan to call them too (thanks trapperjohn) due to the coming holidays, as always, Calguns.net delivers.

Was going to visit next time through there - sorry to hear they are not open weekends.
Used to stop by their store - probably about 1500 sq ft - when they were in Downey. Lots of neat stuff in addition to the guns. Free catalogs and I couldn't/wouldn't afford loaded ammo at the time so the boxes of once fired brass for 3 or 4 bucks was great.

I actually went their as an intern for nursing, escorting the developmentally disabled. What they don't brag about is they actually employ (very part time) the local handicap population to come in and work in the factory folding all the boxes for the guns and putting the gun locks in them. The employes treated them great and the handicap really do enjoy the feeling of a good (2 hour)work day despite there disabilities. The staff went out of there way to stop work and come talk to all the workers and check in with them to see how there lives were going. I have to say good Christian folk at Weatherby.

Not open Fri-Sat-Sun, first store was in South Gate, visited them regularly.

Thanks everyone for the info. Just in case anyone else might be going, I called them today and confirmed that they're open Mon to Thur, 8am to 5pm. They are also closed on the following days:
                      Nov 28
                      Dec 25, 26
                      Jan 01, 02

I must say first impression via the phone is very good. The lady who answered the phone was very nice, even asked me where I'm coming from and gave me driving directions.

We'll see how well their firearms fit me and my wife, heck, I might be tempted to retire my Benelli Supersport in favor of a Weatherby SA-08.
