    Mossberg 500

If you own a Mossberg 500 do yourself a favor.
Take out the ejector screw, clean it and add a drop of locktite before putting it back in.
It's easer than trying to find a new one.

    will do
better than having your ejector break off on a 870

I have two Mossberg 500s and after thousands of rounds though one of them I have no issues with the ejector.

Thats one key difference between the 500 and the 870. Mossy uses a screw while the Remy uses a rivet. It all depends on which method of fastening you trust more.

If you get a Tacstar side shell holder, they give you a longer extractor screw to fasten to the side shell holder with a nut on the other side.

I have a couple of police trade-in's, when I got them they were abused and full of gunk, when I removed the ejector it still had a bit of lube I still shot it as is and never had a issue, as a matte of fact none of my mossbergs has loctite on anything but work great.

actually it all depends on witch method will let you fix any problems yourself or require a the firearm be sent to the factory for repairs.

Its an easy fix, but hard to find a new screw.

I didn't mean to bash, I was just commenting and yes your absolutely correct that any owner should inspect his or her firearm.

I'm giving the 870 one more chance
my express tactical went down on me with not even 200 rounds down the tube...

I'm buying another model hoping it was just a lemon
                      we shall see....
