    Lever action shotguns

Does a fairly modern 12-gauge lever action shotgun exist?

I don't know how modern you mean, but Tri Star makes a copy of the Winchester model 1887. Modern copies are also still made in Australia, but good luck finding one.

I understand the Tri Star never made it into big production.

Norinco's making them, and they're being sold by Interstate Arms (IAC):

Looks like they're going for $430-$500.

That's about the only option I know of for current production lever-action shotguns. You can still find older Marlins and such for not much money, but they don't tend to be well supported.

Okay I did a search for "replica" and found the Norinco version. Thanks a lot for the info!

Edited to add: Thanks maxicon, you beat me to it

I like the Norinco. It is a very smooth action, much better than I would expect. You can easily cycle the action with one finger and a loose hold on the gun. I read somewhere the CHICOMS are using exceptionally good steel in their gun building these days. Other than the leather dingle ball looking wrap around the lever, it is a cool gun.
