Vepr 12 or Benelli M4?!

Hey guys Ive been on the fence about selling one of my shotguns. They are both just used to fun at the range and an occasional day of shooting clays with buddies while camping. I'm super torn on if I should let one go and if I do, which one? I believe Benelli is no longer making the Camo M4's anymore and I feel like if I let the Vepr go I won't ever be able to get one again in Cali. They seem pretty rare around here.

Ive been thinking of letting one of them go to fund a nice rifle. I don't actually own any rifles. I figure I could let one of my shotguns go to help fund either a M1A, Scar 16 or possibly 17. I know for a Scar I would deff be adding some funds onto of my shotgun.

Question is which one?!

I have both and would rather not sell one if not really needed... but if it came down to selling one I would possibly sell the VEPR12. Love the Benelli M4 and shot it a lot more, just don't like the BB on the VEPR12if we are nitpicking.

I don't think the VEPR12 is that hard to get in California, unfortunately now is not a great time to sell the VEPR12 since they are coming down in price recently. Classic City had them for $999 as a Black Friday promo price and I have seen them sell at other sites for around $1k recently... If you were an early adopter then you probably would be taking a hit selling it.

And you can load 8 in 3 seconds in the benelli, AND not spend time loading mags in order to load the shotgun.

I wish I was in your situation hehe. If I were in your shoes, I would keep the benelli. I love my benelli and it is my go too. I has never given me any grief with full power rounds. Waly world Winchester sucks in both my benelli and S12. The S12 is an awesome range toy but it is just that, a range toy. It does hang up on me sometimes and is a pain to clear, especially with a bullet button. If this were a different state, this might be a harder choice but it is, what it is. As much as I love and respect the AK platform, I do believe it is artificially overpriced market. Ya, ya... supply and demand but that can be manipulated. I don't believe it costs 1k to make an ak shotgun... The benelli price is fairly fixed. They will hold their value. The Vepr/s12 market may too but the days of buying an s12 or sks for dirt cheap are long gone if you are looking for an investment. My vote would be to keep both but if you can have just one, keep the benelli. I believe it is a higher quality shotgun with much nicer craftsmanship. It is a work horse and still true to the "thinking man's gun". You can swap loads as the situation dictates without dropping mags and potentially leaving potentially a half unused mag behind which leads me to, you need a magazine. For better or worse, it is necessary. It is the most awesome feature yet in this state, it really cripples the vepr/s12. I have seen people reload a conventional tube magazine faster than a maglocked s12 in competition. Especially if you just need that one last round to knock over 1 steel. The benelli is more flexable in that matter.

I toyed around with either when I looking for a semi-shotgun. I considered the VEPR12 would be gimped with the BB just like my range toy AR...so I went with the Benelli M4.

VEPR12s were scarce for awhile but imho that was just release hype...they're plenty of them around now since product has caught up.

Had a vepr 12. It was.cool I guess. I sold it. I still have my benelli and my mossberg. If that says anything. Also think about shtf carrying extrs mags.... how?

Hmm... How do you carry extra rounds for the M4? How do you carry extra mags for a rifle?

You have seen how big vepr 10rd mags are? Shell caddies are much more compact and weigh less. And if you practice you could probably load just a little less fast. Not to mention being able to do slug changeovers etc. Stuff you cant easily do on a mag fed gun. Jmho. You'd may differ.

If you really must sell one, sell the Vepr. Benelli is part of Beretta, a large company with lots and lots of customers, including the US Marines. This means that many years from now, you'll still be able to parts for your Benelli M4 easily.
