I've had a lot of Benelli M2's, and M4's but got one totally customized
BUT, shell loading was still quite an effort, though the gun shot more than extremely well, and ate everything, and operationally ran smoother and faster than stock, was still an effort against the latch.
Still, pushing the shells past Benelli's overbuilt shell latch was tough, with fumbles coming as you tried to push past the latch, especially when the gun was up, and with two shell loading technique.
I performed a solution discussed on another website, which was to polish down the shell latch, till there was a dished, slight "U" shaped groove in the latch and the difference is night and day.
It's now MUCH easier to push shells in like videos you see, that appear to have people effortlessly push shells into the tube.
The mod is done with a Dremel grinding bit, then polishing bit. The latch is not removed from the gun to do the work, and it's done in place. Tape up the action and mag tube so less debris gets in.
