Loading Benelli Mag

I shot more than one round at a time yesterday in 5 stand. After loading the chamber with the first round, it's very hard to push a round into the mag. The spring is tight, and the mag kept pinching my thumb.

Is this normal for a new shotgun?

+1 Welcome to the club. And your mag spring should loosen/relax with use.

My Super Sport is still wearing my dad's blood on the lifter . He shot a pistol/shotgun match with me and got his thumb stuck. I have put a few thousand rounds through the gun (before he shot it) and haven't done that yet, but I had heard of Benelli thumb. Maybe I should clean the gun again. It just keeps going, and going.

I ordered some snap caps to practice. Hard to sheet a decent round of five stand when the gun bites you first.
