I have come into possession of 2 boxes of 2 3/4", 12g, 1oz lead shot shot shells. What should I do with them? I've never been hunting, but I'm looking to start. I'm mostly interested in turkey, but I'm open to other upland birds or small game.

Squirrels too! Though #4 passes through more often than #6 (which can be preferable when you go to eat them).Calguns.net, where everyone responding to your post is a Navy Force Delta Recon 6 Sniperator.Comment

Those would about right for pen raised pheasant or for Chucker. The preferred for quail is 7.5-8 and for turkey a heavy dose of 4's.
Pen pheasant would be a pretty good way to break into hunting.
#6 Ok for wild birds, but I much prefer a heavier charge of #5. A lot depends. Things like cover, pointer, flusher, early season, wise birds, etc.Last edited by JagerDog; 10-29-2013, 6:04 PM.Palestine is a fake country
