    My First Shotgun Purchase

I have been on the fence about a shotgun for the past couple years. Last year I had on order a Mossberg 590a1 20in Blackwater and could not find one. I waited 7 months before I got fed up and put my money towards as XD45 compact. I love the XD but I still wanted a shotgun. Few days ago I bought 3 guns and one of them was the Mossberg 590a1 USSM. I found a Blackwater which was top of my list but I never heard of the USSM until I saw it and fell in love with it. I cannot wait to get it to my FFL and jail her. I am pretty excited. I found the 25round box winchested military grade 00 buck at my local brick and mortar and picked up 4 boxes. Not a bad haul for 24.99 per 25. Here is a pic of her! Anyone else have one of these?

Nice shotgun! The military backshots are pretty expensive at $24.95 per 25. Check these out:

$99.95 for 250 rounds of 00 buckshot. If you live in a county/city that allows internet purchase of ammo, you should consider ordering online.

I do. I haven't had a single problem with the 590. I went with the ghostring setup. Got about 350 rounds downrage. Enjoy.

Ugh. Another online retailer who thinks its illegal to ship ammo to Los Angeles.

OP, nice shotgun! I was on a budget and went with the 20-inch 500 Cruiser/Persuader. Just got it a week ago.

Awesome! I was going to go with the 500 if I could not find a good price 590a1... It had to be 20inch though. Enjoy your baby as well!

The irony is...one of the best place to order ammo online is www.laxammo.com.

They're in Inglewood and not really LA but I've always thought it funny.

No, because using buckshots isn't practical when shooting trap.

Here's a link to a video showing a guy firing the same buckshots with a Saiga 12 and using a drum magazine.

I seriously doubt if the M4 will have any trouble with it.

I just went through a case of it today at Burro. No problem at all. Both my pump and semi auto ate it.

I think I see the bayonet lug.

Get a bayonet! Then you can be one of those bonified zombier-slayers.

Nice! I have an older version of yours, no USSM prefix but everything else is the same.

Awesome! To tell the truth if I was going to buy my first shotgun it HAD to be a 590a1, I know there are many nice shotguns out there but I have been wanting a 590a1 for so long that my first just had to be this model. The USSM just made the deal sweeter for me. Last year when I was in the market for one they did not have the USSM out so I am happy I snagged this one. They only had 2 on gunbroker and mine was the cheaper of the 2 by $150 bucks!
