    Nova issues loading/ extracting

I just took out my Nova 12ga for my brother to use today for quail and noticed that the rounds are frequently not loading. Also, several are not ejecting and instead are just staying in the receiver. I've never had any issues with this gun. The not loading issue I have pinpointed and am not sure what the corrective measure would be. The round is frequently hanging up on the tip of the right shell latch arm. That part is number 20 on the diagram on this link:

If I push in on the hung up round it usually misses the latch and comes fully rearward and works normally. Why is my shell catching on the part? I took it apart and everything looks normal, is clean and oiled. The ejection issue I'm kind of stumped too. Sometimes it will eject every round and sometimes it won't using the same rounds as before.
Can someone please offer any suggestions. I'm kind of stumped and in a hurry to get it fixed for this quail season. Thanks.

I actually seemed to fix the feeding issue. I put a very slight bend outward on the right shell latch and it seems to feed every round now. No idea why this suddenly happened though. I took apart the gun again and inspected the extractor but it seems fine. moves freely under spring tension. I removed the ejector and decided to file a nice 90 degree edge and it seems to have helped but it still fails to throw the round out the ejection port. A fresh round ends up hitting the bottom of the previous round sometimes because it didn't kick it out the side. I'm assuming for some reason the ejector is the problem. Am I right? If the extractor was the problem wouldn't the issue be not pulling the round from the chamber?
