What can I get for 1500$

I shoot pistols and rifles. I would like to get back in to shotguns, 40 years ago I owned a Citori and A Rem. 870. Would like to get back in to shooting at a skeet an trap range down the road from my gun club. The question is can I fine a O/U with different chokes that I can use for mainly skeet but with the small chance that I might get back in to bird hunting. I was looking at used Citori at Cabelas the other day for 900$. Is this doable? Thank you Sorry if this subject been worked over to much.

Most definitely. That's a decent budget to have for an o/u.

At a $900 budget you may want to look into used SKB's.

Certainly doable, especially on the used market. Stick with good name guns - Browning, SKB, Beretta are in your range. Go with a 28-30" barrel length. Do the usual checks with used break action guns - top lever right of center, tight lock up. Both of these are repairable so if the lock up isn't tight factor in 250-300 to have it repaired.

So if it's mostly upland birds stick with your OU idea, lots of good used OU out there, if your going for duck and especially geese get a semi that will take 3.5" shells. I've been hunting birds and shooting clays with a SxS or OU forever, but I just jailed a Beretta A400 Xtreme for my dedicated waterfowl gun, it was $1499 plus tax & DROS.
