    Benelli Questions

Any suggestions on which model is best for shooting trap, skeet and sporting clays?

And are any of these left handed models that are 28" a good choice?

The longest lefty model they sell is 28"

Thought you were going for a O/U?

I think so. But also like my semi. And might look at a better one too like the Benelli's. What do you suggest?

I don't want more than one shotgun though.

If you're concerned about price, the Montefeltro and the M2 are your best bet, in that order.

I'm in the same boat, looking for a good semi-auto shotgun for clays. The M2, I believe, has more aftermarket support, but there might be a lot of change over between the two I mentioned above.

I shot a friend's Benelli Custom Shop Super Sport II and it was superb, to say the least. But, for the money, it should have had real carbon fiber furniture. Other than that, it was great.

I may end up going with a Montefeltro in 20 gauge before committing to the M2 in 12, more so that I'll have an intro gun for friend's, but also because 20 gauge can be fun and challenging to shoot. I'm always impressed by the guys shooting .410 and outshooting me.

Does anyone know if the righty models are cast off for a righty? Or can they be shot by a lefty?

Left hand models have cartridge release latch and bolt catch in the same spots as the Right hand. Obviously they do not share the same ejection port, but that just doesn't mean you can just interchange the trigger groups.

So to a degree, A lefty still must use controls of a right hand.

I'm just wondering if righty models have the stock cast for a righty?

I think I found my answer. Looks like right hand models come w shims to adjust drop and cast for lefty. Thx. Answer was in manual.

I believe most semi's come with shims and a cam for vertical stock adjustments and cast on or off. Very easy to do.
I am left eyed dominate and sometimes shoot my right-handed Beretta left handed. To me the side of the ejection port is a non-factor. Ejection happens in less than a blink of the eye. I don't think they have a palm swell for right or left.
Shot a few models of the Benellis. smoooooooth would be my description. I really liked them. If I were to buy another semi they would be my 1st choice.

I called Benelli. They said that for the Super Sport Model, you just switch out a shim, and buy a lefty butt plate.

My dad bought a Cordoba and it's just like the Super Sport but all flat black. Then he found the Super Sport stock and forearm on eBay and bought it and put it on. It's one if the sexiest autos I've seen. He's left handed also and has the stock shimmed and canted over with the LH butt pad. He loves it. He never wants a LH auto because he's been shooting the RH's all his life and is good with them. He just sometimes get's powder in his face. He don't mind. Check it out the pics. It's got a generic shell catcher on it, but other than that all black.

Wish I could tell you more, the Benelli SuperSport I ordered online has arrived at my local FFL. Looking forward to break it out of jail this week and do some patterning.

My colleague has a side-by-side double barrel, I'm hoping to try both and see what's the difference between the 2.
