    Frog Lube on your shotgun?

Do you guys use Frog Lube on your shotguns? I use it on my handgun and it seems to work alright.

I just DROS'ed a Benelli SuperSport and is wondering if I should stick with Frog Lube since I have a lot of it still (doesn't take much for handguns) or look into something else.

    Thanks.

I use it on my Mossy 500 with no problems.

Clean it all up first and THEN apply the Froglube. I use it on my shotty, no issues thus far... Then again, no other lube has had any issues either. It just smells good and works too!

          +1

Use it on my Remington 870 with no issues. Lube is lube. Just clean and lube it regularly, and you will be fine, regardless of what you use.

            Thanks for the info guys.

I asked because one reviewer on Amazon.com mentioned that he used it on the barrel of his shotgun and claimed that it burnt and left a lot of carbon in the barrel. Sounded like he must've applied too much paste and didn't clean up the excess.

Still, with a new shotgun I thought I better check in with other folks here first, just in case.

And yes, once I break it out of jail, I'll clean it with the solvent, which I still have plenty left over, and then do the heat treatment thing.

My one beef with frog lube(as crazy as it sounds) is that when I left my gun next to the bed, it attracted some ants

I guess they're not kidding when they say it is "food grade".

Thats interesting. Ive had some spill in my truck and other places from it heating up and melting and never cleaned it up and i had several laying around in hunting stands for extended periods that never had that happen. Weirdo though. As for the whole burnt and left carbon thing it sounds more like he neve cleaned the factory gunk out like youre supposed to and is commonly known as an issue with certain shotguns.

I use froglube on all my duty weapons and personal weapons. Ive even used it for many other uses to include freeing a seized bolt from a newer cummins which unstuck it within seconds. I could write a whole list of its great uses.

                      Froglube

Froglube works great on all my firearms including pump and the semiautos. One funny thing a fellow calgunner mentioned though was that while he was outside with his handgun, some honey bees started gathering around him while holding his piece. When he put it down the bees start gathering around the firearm. LOL Maybe keep that in mind LOL
