    Telescoping Stock on an 870

Looking to replace the synthetic stock on my 870 express with some sort of AR style telescoping stock. Just wondering what people on here think about knoxx, mesa, argonaught armament...

By the way, I don't really care about recoil reduction, I just want the best AR stock adapter...

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

The best would probably be Mesa...They have the option of having low, high, or LEO. They are quite pricey though, and wouldn't be surprised if it cost more than the 870.

I second the Mesa. Fit and finish is excellent! If you get a chance to look at their stuff, you will be pretty impressed. If I were to go with a telescoping stock for my 870, I would get a Mesa.

Yeah, I've been looking at Mesa...I'm really liking the LEO. I also like their sidesaddles, they look like they have some quality accessories.

the knoxx is not in the same league as mesa. you have to use the stock that comes with that thing to be used effectively. the angle is also a bit funky on some peoples frames

with the mesa, it allows you to use ANY telescoping AR stock with an enidine recoil system. its higher quality and more flexible than anything else on the market.

infact, if you wanted to add shell holders to the side, they can also attach to the high/low tube mesa AR telescoping adaptor for a custom setup.

BTW: if you dont like the pricing or maybe just want a 'basic' adaptor, you can look into the LEO models. they are designed similar to the low tube model, but at a lower production cost per unit (around 60 instead of 80-90)

last but not least, tactical shotgunner offers great pricing on mesa tactical gear.

I really like my Mesa High Tube mount with the Enidine Recoil Reduction
Here's a video to show how well it works...
This is with 2-3/4" Magnum OO Buckshot.... Felt like birdshot

You'll have to ignore all the tacticool stuff on it
But it is the most expensive of everything that's out there. The nice thing is Mesa gives you lots of options. I'd only go with the high tube if you plan to add optics of some sort... like a reflex or red dot

That's not a Mesa piece. That's the old Brobee adapter (now owned byOne Shot Tactical).

I love my Knoxx, would get another one if I have another shotgun.

But if recoil is not an issue and going mainly for looks, Mesa it is.

I think that is a very attractive piece, looks well built and also looks comparable to AR ergonomics.... I'd try one if i was so inclined.

I personally prefer a standard wood or synthetic stock chopped about 1 to 1.5" shorter in length with the stock pad reinstalled. It allows a faster swing to shoulder and doesn't look "evil"

I have a full length rail from OneShotTactical
Right now I'm using a AR carry handle sight and front tower
But I want to get a riser/spacer to also use my red dot

it's a slip on recoil pad that came with the ATI stock I had first
