Mossberg capacity question

I bought a Mossberg 500 persuader with a 7 shot tube. I was using 9 pellet Buck but found Hornady 8 Pellet OO buck. They say they are 2 3/4 inch but in reality they are a tiny bit shorter. I can fit 8 in the tube but it is tight. Is it damaging to the tube and spring to load it up with 8 rounds?

Yes, you could twist the spring. The one Mossberg uses in the 500 is sorta cheap-o. You can get a better one. I have heard of people over crushing it and jamming it.

cool thanks for the response. Think I will just leave it with 7 in the tube. Maybe I will get a wolfe spring later.
