    Winchester Traacker

This product was launched about the same time Ammo sales went through the roof

Winchester's shotshell ammo delivers the ultimate in perfomance and versatility for shotguns in a variety of shotgun gauge sizes and lengths including shotgun slugs and more than 110 lead-free shotshell options.

Has anyone had a chance to shoot or find these yet?

A friend want to get some before he shoots skeet again.

As my best score in skeet is a lousy 15, I am interested as well.

So has anyone tried them out?

      ><

Have had students bring these to lessons......they missed more when they used them.

Praticing how to do it right is much better then knowing what you did wrong.

After shooting for year, I still get a hard focus on the sight and stop my swing....

I have never figured out how to keep rifle shooting out of Skeet...

Good timing w/ your post. Check our the NRA Oct 2013 Rifleman Mag. There's an article on this ammo. I haven't read it yet. Came in mail today!

I have been using them for about a month off and on. The black ones show up very well in a sunny sky and the orange ones work well on cloudy days. They really have been helpful to me. My husband could never tell me where my shots were, either in front or behind. With the trackers, I was able to see the exact miss spot. For whatever reason, seem to hit when I use them which is just a big waste of a tracker.

I have to say, I expected that the trackers would be a bit bigger. I still really like them.

Are these legal in CA? Are they tracer ammo?

No they are not a tracer. It is a plastic wad that has longer limbs on it so it is like a spinner of sorts. It is weighted so it is part of the shot and it opens up for a visual. Yes they are legal in CA.

not tracer... the wad has shot stuck inside so the wad tracks the shot column

And the rebate ended from Winchester at the end of August

A couple things that helped me with skeet was to learn to shoot with my shotgun in a lower ready position.

I practiced raising my gun to my eye from this position without moving my head. Plant cheek firmly on the comb then pull the gun through from butt, belly to beak then boom. It worked because I stopped measuring lead. I focused only on the bird (clay) For me, measuring lead meant I was aiming and stopping my gun. When I used this method, I starting hitting many of the shots I used to miss because I tried to measure lead. There are too many factors to be able to measure like wind or just an oddly thrown bird. Imagining shooting the bird where it is going, not where it has been. If you are trying to measure lead, you are focusing on the site and not the bird and most likely you are shooting behind. 90% of my misses, I was behind the bird or under the bird because I was raising my cheek.

I am no expert, I am just telling you what worked for me.

That is very helpful. I have been struggling with the leads, being either under or behind, or both.

                        Thanks!
