Benelli SuperSport

While showing my wife the Benelli M4 on Benelli's web site, she saw the SuperSport and liked it a lot. This one:


Looks like a very beautiful gun and nice for clay shooting. Does anyone has this shotgun? Recommended?

Well where to start........
First a confession, I have a Lefty M2 and I like it.
Second, I shoot skeet almost every week.
Third, I don't often shoot my M2.
I find that my O/U is better suited.

That being said, some go the Semi route in an attempt to reduce felt recoil.
With a light target load the gas cycled semi's offer lighter felt recoil than the inertia cycled.

So, can I break clays with the M2, you bet.
Would I ever sell it, nope.
I like it as a second gun and I'd much rather get it wet than my O/U.
Would I want my inertia cycled M2 to be my only gun for clays.... not really.

Yes, she's a sexy platinum blonde with long legs - the Super Sport that is.

It's my primary clay breaking gun and it's not done anything to make me second guess my decision to purchase it over other guns in the same price range. If your looking at it for your wife, perhaps the 20ga might work best.

The gun itself is lighter than most/all O/U I've handled. It points well, cycles everything I've feed it and has never let me down (all the misses have been my fault, and not hers). Its never failed to cycle the second shell in time on a true pair.

I like the fact that it comes with external chokes so no tools are necessary.

So recommend with the caveat that I've not own an O/U before.

Good luck on whatever you decide on but can't go wrong with a Super Sport.

I have put thousands of rounds through my Super Sport. I love it. Everyone who picks it up is amazed at how light it is. It might kick a bit harder than a gas gun, but it is very easy to break down and clean and it has never malfunctioned. It runs 1oz loads just fine.

Yuuup that baby is straight sexy. I could only imagine how she shoots. I love my M2 and have only shouldered the super sport and she felt great.

Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback. I'm new to shotguns and don't want to end up with a $2000+ lemon.

It is an interesting experience for me, I've found that my wife (and maybe other women too) looks at guns differently than I do. The sleek lethal look of the M2 or M4 is pretty nice to me but wife finds them a little too intimidating. But she took an instant liking to the SuperSport, the modern lines, color and material of the SuperSport makes it look like a fashion accessory that she can relate to.

I have been shooting inertia action Benelli's for 22 years and I won't buy anything else.

Your wife would love the Super Sport and so would you...Benelli make the most reliable, easiest semi-auto to clean and breakdown in my opinion.

I prefer my 20ga O/U for my weekly skeet only because I don't have to pick-up the empty hulls...but I shoot my Benelli's for everything else.
