I installed the scatter gun tech ghost ring sights.(trijicon) and I was having no problems hitting a 3"x3" steel squares on a dueling tree at 50 yards, and I was able to get 6 out of 7 in a 10" ring out at 100 yards.

Never seen a five shot tube on an 870. Keep that rare shotgun.

Can you borrow another 870 and swap barrels?

See it the left hook follows the barrel to the other receiver.

Very easy fix.....move your cheek on the stock to the right.

It sounds like you have a cylinder bore on the bead sighted barrel. Those are great riotguns for buckshot. But they do poorly with slugs. Remington has a improved cylinder rifle sighted 20 inch barrel that is exceptional with slugs.

Don't worry about it. I read on the internet that as long as your 870 can make the terrifying slide-rack sound bad guys will run away. That's what I read, anyway.
