Where to find a Hawk 982 in LA?

Looking for a store that sells that Hawk 982 In the LA/Long Beach area. Anyone know where to find one?

Would buy PTP too if there are any for sale.

Big 5 used to carry them a few years ago. Now the best deal at Big 5 is
a Mossberg/Maverick for $190 on sale.

I know of 2 places that sold em in my area. Sports authority and big 5. Nice choice btw it's what I use....can't beat a really well made 870 clone for$199.

You could go to your local brick and mortar and see if they will order you one. Or you could buy one online and have it shipped to a FFL near you. Interstate arms is the supplier.

Truth be told, I haven't held one in my hands, so was kind of hoping to find one here locally.

I know I can order and ship to FFL, but this a cost decision, and that kinda kills it.

But thank you for your advice. Hopefully one will turn up.

I dont think you will find one in stores any more. I was lucky to buy one used a couple years back for under $200 here on calguns and added a nordic components mag extension as well as some other parts to make it 922r compliant. It now holds 7+1 and is my goto combat shotgun. Quality wise is is better than my 870 express and doesn't rust(better steel) and machining .

I have to agree with the above. I found the Hawk to be a superb clone. Extremely well made and reliable with any load. Really made all the other clones seem cheap to me. The only down side to it was the issue with not being able to throw down a longer barrel without a spacer.

As for price the FFL should be no more expensive than Big 5. I think it's what
$35? Sucks that there isn't one on hand that your can fondle 1st though. I guess you'll just have to keep your eyes peeled to the ads and call big 5 every couple of weeks. Did you call and ask the store manager whether or not they still stocked them occasionally?

I purchased one off gallery of guns. They don't have any in stock right now but I'd keep an eye on it and hopefully they'll have them back in stock soon. OTD price was around $240 back in November 2012 when I ordered one.

I posted a WTB and PPT'd a Hawk 982 locally. I threw on a Mesa pistol grip/AR stock and it's now one of my favorites.

If you don't have any luck, you should check out the H&R Pardner Pump. It is also an 870 clone and is almost like the 982, but has a front bead instead of the ghost ring sights.

Yeah - I would prefer the ghost ring sights. I don't know if the pardner is tapped for a rail either.

The H&R is tapped for a rail. The H&R and Hawk are built by the same conglomerate. This review on the H&R almost makes me want to add it to my collection.(except for the part about the noise and kick!)

XS Sights Systems makes ghost ring sights for Remington's that would probably work on the H&R.("Banded" front sight/winged ghost ring rear). $$$$$
