High Brass in SD or online

    Hello,

I'm looking for ammo to break in two semi-auto shotguns I just purchased. I was assuming between 50 and 100 high brass shells for proper break-in of each shotgun.

I was hoping you guys could give me suggestions on where to purchase high brass shells for a reasonable price, online or in San Diego.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    What shotgun ?

I'd suggest trying the basic 3dram target loads from Walmart and see how they work.

You could step up one level and try the Nitro27 from Remington or SuperHandicap from Winchester.

As far as on line, try Able Ammo.

Anyone press will hear the fat lady sing.

Pretty sure I saw some High Brass @ Walmart on Shawline (Kearney Mesa) a couple of days ago.

Why do you need high brass shells? They are absolutely not necessary as they are a product of dates technology. Any low brass or even fully plastic hull can be loaded with as much powder as any high brass hull.

I realize that it's dated terminology.

I'm using the term to refer to shells with a velocity greater than 1250 fps.

It is recommended to shoot more powerful loads to break in the gun to prevent FTE issues

I'm at a loss here? Why does the manufacture call for hi vel shells to break a gun in, seems to me you run a couple of Wally World four packs thru that gun and all should be well. Or a four pack and a box of hi vel to check it.
