BT99 adjustable - sold out everywhere?

This thing is impossible to find! The grade III seems to be available, but that is well out of my price range. Mind as well save up for a Golden Clays by the time this thing gets back on the market.

Anyone else been waiting a long time for this gun?

Been a long time since I've shot a BT99. I'm pretty sure I've got one buried in my safe that has only 100 through it and hasn't been touched in 15 years (wife didn't care for it). You might check the bulletin boards at your local trap clubs, they show up there sometimes.

I have a used one in jail now. Adjustable comb and that's about it. Found it posted at Livermore Rod and Gun. I will pick it up Friday and hopefully shoot Sunday. As another poster said there are plenty on Gunbroker.

I just sold one. Keep your eye on Gun Genie and when one pops up BUY it! The BT99 is an excellent Trap gun and a great buy for the money!

If all you need is an adjustable comb, just buy the regular BT-99 have one installed. That's how everyone I know does it -me included. If you are in SoCal, call Joe Shiozaki at JS Aircushion http://www.jsaircushion.com/ Joe and Paul have fitted, repaired and/or refinished several stocks for me over the years and their work has always been great.

Also a nice excuse to drop in at Pacific Sporting Arms and drool

That is going to add to the cost quiet a bit thought right? It looks like like a $200 upper from standard BT-99 to adjustable from factory. What is the upper on on a secondary market adjustable?

Plus, if you buy used maybe you can find one that has already had it done, but either way, you''' save 9% tax (less $35 DROS). More to the point, you can't find a factory one, so those are your choices.

You're logic is irrefutable

I highly recommend not getting a browning with a factory adjustable comb. Their hardware is not the best out there. You are better off buying a non-adjustable and having an adjustable comb added after the fact. Make sure you get a 4 way adjustable. If you are in the Sacramento area, I can recommend a great guy who added a comb to my XT.

As far as getting a BT-99, check out Tom Forbes at Capitol City Gun Club in Carson City, NV. A friend just got one from him. Or you can try Joel Etchens at www.joeletchenguns.com. Etchen's may even have a used one or two.

I wonder if gun companies are getting away from the "dedicated" Trap guns. I went to Reeds to see if I could order a Beretta 682 Gold E lower and I was told that Beretta is no longer making them.

Having owned a BT99 with an adjustable comb they are EXCELLENT! They really need an adjustable comb! Personally I would rather have it done at the factory than "after market" You really need to make sure the gun smith knows what they are doing.

I think you are right. A lot of the guys in the club have been trying to sway me towards a two barrel set for trap so I can shoot doubles & wobble. If that is the growing preference then I think American trap is starting to look like the boring game.
